One Agriculture Fieldof the major economies of the District, Agriculture contributes a higher share of Rice Production in the State. We have raised so many important agricultural crop in our District. Rice, Groundnut, Pulses, Gingelly, Sugarcane and Cotton.

District Office
  1. Polite and courteously handle applicants and cardholders and provide all necessary information on public distribution system sought by them either in person or over telephone/email.
  2. Monitoring timely disposal of applications of cardholders as per Charter by Taluk Supply Office.
  3. Issue of allotment orders for commodities to all taluks in the district every month.
  4. Monitoring effective movement of commodities to fair price shops and sufficient stocks in all fair price shops.
  5. Effective redressal of public grievances relating to public distribution system and fair price shops.
  6. Monitoring selection of eligible beneficiaries for AAY.
  7. Elimination of bogus cards, smuggling and prevention of black marketing.
Taluk Supply Offices
  1. Polite and courteously handle applicants and cardholders and provide all necessary information on public distribution system sought by them either in person on over telephone/e.mail.
  2. Issue acknowledgment slips on receiving applications with registration number and data as well as of final disposal to every applicant.
  3. Timely disposal of applications of various services mentioned below as per this Charter (in the succeeding section)
  4. Issue of new family cards.
  5. Changes to existing family cards.
  6. Issue of allotment orders for commodities to all fair price shops in that taluk.
  7. Selection of eligible beneficiaries for AAY as per norms laid down by Govt.
  8. Monitoring effective movement of commodities and ensuring sufficient stocks in fair price shops to meet entitlement.
  9. Redressal of Public Grievances relating to public distribution system and fair price shops.
  10. Elimination of bogus cards, Smuggling and prevention of Black-marketing.

Rice Free 4 Kg. per adult and 2 Kg per child subject to a minimum of 12 Kgs and a maximum of 20 kg per family card. For AAY benficiaries 35 Kg per month at free of cost. In any number of instalments as the cardholders choose.
Sugar Rs.13.50 500 grams per head per month. For sugar option family cards an additional quantity of 3 kg of sugar in lieu of rice. In one instalment.
Wheat Rs.7.50 10 Kgs per card per month in District Headquarters and 5 Kgs per card per month in other areas (subject to availability as limited quantities are allotted by Govt.of India). In one instalment.

    APPLY FOR NEW RATION CARD
    1. Prescribed format for new card application.
    2. Any Residential Proof for the present residents in Tamilnadu (Ex. Photo Copy of Telephone charges bill, Voter Identity card, Passport) etc.
    3. Copy of the old family card and reason for not renewing the card; or If the applicant is newly married (new family) and residing with family separately with separate kitchen, deletion certificate for their names from their parents family cards in which their names have been included; or
    4. No Family Card Certificate from the concerned card issuing authority at the other place in which they were previously residing, in case of a family in existence for more than 5 years. or Surrender certificate after surrendering the family card in any station outside the State.
    5. A blank self-addressed postcard.
    DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR DELETION OF NAME IN THE EXISTING FAMILY CARD
    1. Written application from the Head of the family.
    2. Death certificate
    3. The address to which the member migrates should also be furnished.
    APPLY FOR A DUPLICATE CARD[if the family card is lost or damaged]
    1. Head of the family has to give written application giving the reason for applying for duplicate card. (If other members of the family give application, it will be rejected).
    2. Family card Number, Photo copy of lost/damaged family card with the name of the fair price shop.
    3. Residential proof for the address given in the family card.
    4. Residential proof for the present address [Like for applying new family card]
    DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR INCLUSION OF NAME IN THE EXISTING FAMILY CARD
    1. Written application from the Head of the family.
    2. If it is a new born child, photo copy of the Birth Certificate.
    3. Deletion certificate deleting the name from parents or guardian family card.
